Terms of Service

Last Updated: June 26, 2026

Welcome to ChopSkills.com, a platform owned and operated by Destination Creation. By registering an account, submitting artwork, or participating in our challenges, you agree to the following terms.

1. Account Registration & Pro Memberships

  • You must be 18 years or older (or have parental consent) to participate.
  • “Pro” memberships are billed according to the terms presented at checkout. Cancellation policies are managed via your account dashboard.

2. Artwork Ownership & Rights (The “ChopSkills License”) We believe artists should own what they create.

  • You retain full copyright and ownership of any original artwork you submit to ChopSkills.com.
  • By submitting your work, you grant Destination Creation and ChopSkills.com a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your images. This allows us to display your work in the Arena for voting, archive it in the Gallery, and use it in our promotional/marketing materials across our social channels.

3. Sponsored Challenges & Sponsor Rights Occasionally, ChopSkills hosts premium challenges sponsored by third-party brands (e.g., HorrorSchool).

  • The Sponsor License: By submitting an entry to a Sponsored Challenge, you grant both ChopSkills.com and the specific Sponsor a non-exclusive right to use your submitted image for commercial, promotional, and marketing purposes.
  • Sponsor Assets: If a sponsor provides raw assets (e.g., a 3D render or logo) for you to manipulate, you may only use those assets for the purpose of the ChopSkills challenge. You may not sell or mint the resulting image independently, as the sponsor retains the underlying IP of their original asset.
  • Prize Fulfillment: ChopSkills acts as the host of the arena. The designated Sponsor is 100% responsible for the fulfillment, distribution, and payment of any advertised cash prizes, physical products, or awards to the challenge winners.

4. Prohibited Conduct

  • You may not use prohibited generative AI tools (as outlined on the individual challenge pages) to bypass the manual skill requirements of the platform, unless specified by each challenge rules.
  • You may not engage in “brigading” or manipulate the Arena voting system.

5. Prize Fulfillment and Payouts

  • 5.1. Standard Cash Prizes (ChopSkills Sponsored)
  • For official platform challenges where ChopSkills is the sole provider of a cash prize pool, the following terms apply:
  • Payment Method: All standard cash prizes are issued exclusively via PayPal.
  • Currency and Fees: Prizes are paid in USD via PayPal. Winners are solely responsible for any standard PayPal receiving fees, cross-border transaction costs, or currency conversion rates applied by their local financial institutions.
  • The Verification Escrow: Payouts are not immediate. Upon the conclusion of a voting period, the winning user is placed in a verification queue. The winner must provide their source files (e.g., .psd) within 48 hours for a manual layer-stack audit to ensure compliance with our “Manual Mastery” (no AI generation) rules. Payouts will be disbursed within 3 to 5 business days following successful verification.
  • 5.2. Third-Party Sponsored Challenges
  • ChopSkills frequently hosts “Sponsored Challenges” featuring prize pools (cash, hardware, software licenses, etc.) provided by external brands, agencies, or partners.
  • Sponsor Responsibility: For these specific events, the external sponsoring entity assumes strict and sole responsibility for the fulfillment, shipping, and direct financial payout of all advertised prizes to the winning users.
  • Facilitation: ChopSkills acts solely as the competitive arena, hosting the brief and facilitating the Elo voting mechanics. Upon the conclusion of the challenge and successful file verification, ChopSkills will securely pass the verified winner’s contact information to the sponsor to facilitate the reward delivery.
  • Limitation of Liability: ChopSkills assumes no financial obligation or legal liability for the delivery, condition, or fulfillment of third-party sponsored prizes. This includes, but is not limited to, international shipping restrictions, customs duties, regional hardware incompatibilities, or a sponsor’s failure to disburse funds.
  • 5.3. Eligibility and Forfeiture
  • Failure to Verify: If a winning user fails to provide the requested source files within the 48-hour verification window, or is found to be in violation of our contest rules, the prize is immediately forfeited and will roll over to the next highest-ranked, verified eligible user on the challenge leaderboard.
  • Regional Restrictions: Users residing in jurisdictions where PayPal operations are restricted, or where participation in digital, skill-based prize contests is prohibited by local law, are ineligible to receive cash payouts. It is the user’s responsibility to understand their local regulations before competing.
